A princess cut lab grown diamond held in four corner claws above a square hidden halo, on a band set with round diamonds in a scalloped French pave. Two details do the work here. The hidden halo follows the square outline of the princess rather than the usual circle, so from the side you see a neat rectangular collar of light instead of a round one, and the geometry of the centre stone is repeated instead of contradicted. The French pave beneath it is cut away in a curved scoop between each diamond and held by shared claws rather than beads, so light reaches the stones from below and each sits proud of the shank. The scallops between each stone show the metal colour clearly, so yellow and rose gold give a visible rhythm of gold and diamond along the band while white gold lets the row run as one continuous line. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and better protects the fine claws of a French pave.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the base of the centre stone facing outward. From above you see only the princess cut. From the side it shows as a bright collar underneath, square in shape here to follow the outline of the centre stone.

What is French pave?
A setting where a V shaped or scalloped channel is cut beneath each stone so light enters from below as well as above. Less metal touches the diamond than in bead set pave, so more of each stone is visible and the row looks brighter.

Are the corners of a princess cut fragile?
The four corners are the thinnest points of the stone, which is why each one sits inside a claw. Protected that way a princess cut wears as well as any other shape.

Why does a princess cut look smaller than a round of the same carat?
It carries more of its weight in depth than in width. That is also why it is one of the best value shapes per carat, since less rough is lost when cutting it.

Does the carat option include the halo and pave?
No. The carat you choose is the weight of the princess centre only. The hidden halo and pave diamonds are additional at every carat weight.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time to your address.
