A large pear cut lab grown diamond held by a V claw at the point and two claws at the shoulders, on a rounded shank whose pave wraps over the top and down both sides.

A pear is an asymmetric shape, and that asymmetry is the difficulty. The stone is wide at one end and comes to a point at the other, so any decoration on the band is closer to the diamond at the shoulders than it is at the tip, and a flat single row of pave tends to emphasise that imbalance. Wrapping the pave around a rounded shank spreads the light evenly across a curved surface instead of concentrating it on a flat top face, so the shoulders read as a soft continuous glow that fades away from the stone rather than a hard line pointing at it. The centre stone is then free to be the only sharp shape on the ring. The V claw at the tip is a single piece of metal folded over the point, which is the correct way to set a pear, since the tip is the thinnest part of the stone and cannot take a plain prong bearing directly on it.

Band details
