Pear Cut Moissanite Wide Band Pear and Round Mosaic Engagement Ring

A pear cut moissanite in six claws on a wide domed band, roughly 4 mm across, with a dense mosaic of accent stones packed across the upper face of each shoulder. The accents alternate small pear cuts with round brilliants of two sizes, claw set tight against one another so the group reads as a single field of stones rather than a row. Below them the band curves away as a broad plain polished edge.

Underneath, the gallery is pierced with a row of small openings that run along the inside of the shank, so light travels through the ring from below. It is a detail almost nobody else will see, which is rather the point of it.

Pricing note

Our prices are based on a band up to 2 mm wide. This band measures about 4 mm, so it carries a width supplement of 100 US dollars in sterling silver and 400 US dollars in gold. That supplement is already included in the prices shown and is not added at checkout.

Why the point is protected

The tip of a pear is the most vulnerable part of the shape. Ours sits under a V shaped claw that wraps around it rather than a single prong resting on top. It is the difference between a point that survives a decade of daily wear and one that chips on a door frame in the first year, and it is not something we treat as optional.

How it compares to our other pear rings with clusters

Every design is listed separately. Our marquise and round cluster ring uses a slim 2 mm shank and sets its accents loosely and asymmetrically, with plenty of bare metal between them. This one is built on a band twice as wide and packs the stones tightly, so it reads as a solid mosaic and has real weight on the hand. It is the more substantial of the two by a considerable margin.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. On a band this wide the metal is a large part of what you see, so yellow gold gives the boldest contrast against the colorless stones and white gold the most seamless look. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. Packing mixed shapes tightly is the hardest kind of setting we do: each seat has to be cut around the ones already there, and the pear shaped accents have points that must be protected individually. The pierced gallery is sawn by hand after the band is domed.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, letting it soak first so residue lifts out from between the packed stones. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth, and brush through the pierced gallery from underneath. Have the claws checked once a year.

Fit

A 4 mm band feels tighter on the finger than a 2 mm one at the same nominal size. If you measured with a thin ring, consider going up a quarter to a half size. Tell us what you measured with and we will advise.

Resizing

The lower half of the band is plain, so we can resize this ring by about one to two sizes. A wide band takes more work to resize than a narrow one, so please be as accurate as you can before ordering.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Is a 4 mm band too wide for a small hand? Not necessarily, but it will read as a statement piece rather than a delicate one. If you want the same look on a slimmer shank, our marquise and round cluster ring is the design to look at.

Which way does the pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Most people wear this one alone. It is wide enough to fill the space by itself, and a second band beside it starts to crowd the finger.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
