Pear Cut Moissanite Sculpted Vine and Leaf Nature Engagement Ring

A pear cut moissanite held in six rounded claws above a slim band with a vine growing along each shoulder. The vine is sculpted in relief, standing proud of the surface rather than cut into it, with small leaves branching off it. A few of those leaves are marquise cut moissanite set flush into the metal, so the sparkle appears where a real leaf would be rather than in a line.

The rest of the band is smooth and rounded, and the vine stops before it reaches the back of the shank. From a distance the ring reads as a plain solitaire; up close there is a small quiet piece of nature on it.

Why the point is protected

The tip of a pear is the most vulnerable part of the shape. Ours sits under a claw that wraps around it rather than a single prong resting on top. It is the difference between a point that survives a decade of daily wear and one that chips on a door frame in the first year, and it is not something we treat as optional.

How it compares to our other botanical pear rings

Every design is listed separately. Our hand engraved vintage leaf and vine ring cuts its foliage into the surface of the metal with a graver and fills it with tiny round accents; the surface stays flat and the pattern reads as shadow. This one does the opposite: the vine is built up above the surface so you can feel it under a fingertip, the leaves are marquise shaped rather than round, and there are far fewer of them. One is an antique effect, the other a botanical one.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold, shown here, is the most natural reading for a vine; rose gold gives it a warmer, softer look. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. The vine is carved in wax by hand before casting, then cleaned up and detailed in metal, and the marquise leaves are set last so their points sit exactly where the branch would carry them. It is slow work and it is the reason no two of these rings have identical foliage.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working around the raised vine where residue gathers at the base of each leaf. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Raised relief will slowly soften at its highest points over many years of wear, which most people find flattering rather than a fault.

Resizing

The back of the shank is smooth and free of decoration, so this ring resizes comfortably by two sizes or more without touching the vine.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Does the raised vine catch on clothing? The relief is low and every edge is rounded, so it is far smoother than any claw setting. It is one of the more comfortable decorated bands we make.

Which way does the pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes. The vine is confined to the shoulders, so a plain straight band meets the smooth part of the shank cleanly. There will still be a small gap under the point of the pear.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
