Pear Cut Moissanite Marquise and Round Cluster Engagement Ring

A pear cut moissanite in six claws with a cluster of accent stones spreading out across each shoulder. The cluster mixes marquise cut moissanite with round brilliants in three different sizes, claw set at deliberately uneven heights so the group looks scattered rather than lined up. Behind the cluster the band drops away to a completely plain polished shank.

Because the stones sit at different angles, they never all catch the light at once. What you get is a shifting, irregular sparkle across the shoulders that reads much more like a spray of frost or a wildflower head than like a row of pave. It is the least formal design in our pear range and the one that looks least like everyone else's engagement ring.

Why the point is protected

The tip of a pear is the most vulnerable part of the shape. Ours sits under a V shaped claw that wraps around it rather than a single prong resting on top. It is the difference between a point that survives a decade of daily wear and one that chips on a door frame in the first year, and it is not something we treat as optional.

How it compares to our other pear rings with side stones

Every design is listed separately. Our three stone design places two step cut baguettes symmetrically against the centre, which is formal and architectural. Our vintage leaf and vine ring hides tiny flush set rounds inside hand carved foliage. This one is the only design in our pear range that mixes two different accent shapes and sets them off centre on purpose. If you like symmetry, one of the others will suit you better.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold, shown here, gives the strongest separation between the warm metal and the cluster of colorless stones. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. A scattered cluster takes longer to set than a straight row, because the seat for each stone has to be cut at its own angle and depth and there is no template to follow. Our setter positions each one by eye. That is why yours will not be identical to the photograph, and why we think it is worth doing.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working carefully around and beneath the cluster where residue gathers. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Have the claws checked once a year; the marquise stones have pointed ends and their tip claws are the ones most worth inspecting.

Resizing

The back half of the shank is plain, so this ring resizes comfortably by two sizes or more in either direction without disturbing any of the settings.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Will the cluster catch on clothing? The claws are filed low and rounded, but a cluster with raised stones is never as smooth as a bezel. It is fine for daily wear; we would still take it off for gardening or heavy lifting.

Which way does the pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? The clusters sit low enough that a straight band will meet the shank, but it will not sit flush against the stones. A contoured band designed to curve around the cluster is the better answer.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
