Frequently asked questions

Does yellow gold make a colourless diamond look yellow?
Not the stone itself, but the metal around it does reflect warmth into the setting, so an E colour diamond can read very slightly warmer than it would in white gold. Many people prefer exactly that. If you want the stone as icy as possible, choose a white metal instead.

Is yellow gold softer than white gold?
At the same karat they are similar, though white gold is usually alloyed harder and then rhodium plated. The bigger difference is upkeep: yellow gold needs no replating, while white gold needs its rhodium refreshed every few years to stay bright.

Why is the halo hidden rather than visible?
A visible halo surrounds the stone and changes its outline. A hidden halo sits underneath, so from above you see a clean pear and from the side you see an extra line of light. It adds presence without turning the ring into a cluster.

Is the pear point protected?
Yes. The tip is set under a V prong, which caps the most fragile part of the stone in metal.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
