A pear brilliant and an emerald cut set side by side on one shank, and beneath each of them a separate hidden halo. Most hidden halo rings have one centre stone and therefore one collar of small diamonds. Here there are two, one following the curve of the pear and one following the rectangle of the emerald cut, each shaped to its own stone. From above the ring is a clean two stone design with nothing between the diamonds. Turn it over and the entire underside is worked, with two rings of small stones sitting beneath the girdles and the claws rising between them. Pairing a brilliant cut pear with a step cut emerald also sets two completely different kinds of light against each other, fine sparkle beside broad flashes. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificates. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the underside of a stone, below the girdle. It is invisible from above and only appears from the side or underneath.

Why two hidden halos?
Because there are two centre stones. Each one gets its own collar shaped to its outline, curved under the pear and rectangular under the emerald cut, rather than a single halo spanning both.

How is this different from your other pear and emerald toi et moi?
That ring is bezel set, with a rim of metal around each stone and no hidden detail. This one is claw set and carries a hidden halo beneath both stones.

Why pair a pear with an emerald cut?
They behave differently in light. A pear is brilliant faceted and sparkles in fine points, an emerald cut is step faceted and throws broad flashes. Setting them together makes both more noticeable.

Does clarity matter more on the emerald cut?
Yes. Its large open table gives inclusions nowhere to hide. VVS2 is comfortably above the level where anything would be visible.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
