The oval sits between two round brilliants that are large enough to matter but clearly secondary, and the band tapers gently up to meet them. Three stones are traditionally read as past, present and future, and this is the version of that idea with nothing added to distract from it. Design and craftsmanship

With so few elements, proportion is the entire job. The round sides are cut to about a third of the width of the oval, which is the ratio that keeps them reading as companions rather than as competitors or as afterthoughts. They sit a fraction lower than the centre stone so the eye still finds the middle first. The shoulders of the band rise into the side baskets in a single curve with no visible join, and the shank tapers from about 2 mm at the base down to 1.8 mm where it meets the head. How moissanite compares to a diamond

Moissanite is silicon carbide, not carbon, so it is a different material from a diamond rather than a lower grade of one. It measures 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, which makes it hard wearing and well suited to daily use. Its refractive index is higher than a diamond, so it returns more colored fire, and with three brilliant cut stones in a row the flashes overlap constantly as the hand moves. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, is the traditional choice for a classic trilogy and outlines each stone clearly. White gold lets the three stones merge into one bright band across the finger. Rose gold is the softest. For everyday wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds prongs on three separate heads more securely over time, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable way to try the design.

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. The band carries no stones, so a jeweller can resize the ring later without disturbing the setting. Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone and both round side stones are lab created moissanite, and the ring is sold as moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.

What do the three stones mean?
The usual reading is past, present and future. It is a symbolic tradition rather than a rule, and plenty of people choose the style simply because they like the balance of it.

How big are the side stones?
About a third of the width of the centre stone. Larger and they start to compete with it, smaller and they read as accents rather than as part of a trilogy.

Why round sides instead of pear or baguette?
Round is the most neutral choice. It matches the brilliant faceting of the oval so all three stones sparkle in the same way, which makes the row read as one design rather than as a mixture.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Yes. The side stones sit above the shank and the band below them is straight, so a straight wedding band lies flat with no gap.

Is a three stone ring harder to keep clean than a solitaire?
Slightly, because there are three settings rather than one. All three baskets here are open underneath, so a soft brush reaches everything easily.

Does moissanite scratch or cloud over time?
No. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale it resists scratching from ordinary contact, and its brilliance comes from the material itself rather than a coating.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working under all three stones where residue collects. Rinse well and dry with a lint free cloth.
