The shoulders of this ring are built in a repeating rhythm. Against the centre oval sit two round moissanites, one above and one below the finger line. Beyond them stands a single marquise, laid lengthwise along the band. Then two more rounds, then a second marquise, each group smaller than the last until the arrangement runs out into the plain shank. Both sides mirror each other exactly. The result is more structured than a scattered cluster and busier than a plain three stone, and it makes the head of the ring read as almost twice as wide as the centre stone alone. Design and craftsmanship

The difficulty in a repeating pattern is that any error repeats with it. If the first pair of rounds sits a fraction high, every group after it looks wrong, and because the two shoulders mirror each other the eye catches the mismatch instantly. Our setters lay out both sides at once rather than finishing one and copying it, working outward in pairs so the left and right stay identical at every step. The marquises are set lengthwise with a V claw over each point, the standard protection for the thin tips of that cut, and they sit very slightly lower than the rounds so the whole arrangement flows down toward the band rather than sitting flat. Every ring is hand finished in our Surat workshop.

How moissanite compares to a diamond

Moissanite is silicon carbide, a different material from diamond rather than a lower grade of one. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, it is hard enough for daily wear. Its refractive index is higher, so it returns more coloured fire, and mixing two cuts amplifies that: the rounds scatter light in every direction while the long marquise facets throw it in flashes as the hand moves. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, outlines each stone and makes the repeating pattern easy to read. White gold merges the whole shoulder into one bright field. Rose gold is the softest of the three. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds the fine V claws better, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable way to try the design.

Ring size

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. The pattern stops before the base of the band, leaving a plain section that can be resized without disturbing any stone.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone and every accent are lab created moissanite, and the ring is sold as moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.

How many accent stones are there?
Six per side, twelve in total: four rounds and two marquises on each shoulder, graduating smaller as they move away from the centre.

How is this different from your other marquise and round accent ring?
That design places its accents in a single loose group. This one repeats the same round pair and marquise unit twice per side in a strict mirrored pattern, so the shoulders read as deliberate and structured rather than scattered.

Do marquise points chip easily?
Each point sits inside a V shaped claw, the standard protection for that cut. Moissanite at 9.25 on the Mohs scale also resists chipping better than most coloured gemstones.

Does it make the ring look bigger?
Yes. The pattern extends the visible head well beyond the centre stone, so a 2 carat oval in this setting covers considerably more finger than the same oval set as a plain solitaire.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Not entirely. The pattern runs down onto the shoulders, so a straight band meets it at an angle. A contoured band nests properly and we can make one to match.

Which centre size suits this setting?
2 and 3 carat keep the pattern as an equal part of the design. At 4 and 5 carat the oval dominates and the shoulders read as a frame.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working between the stones where lotion collects. Rinse well and dry with a lint free cloth, and have the prongs checked once a year.

How long does it take to make?
