This ring keeps everything simple where you can see it and saves the sparkle for where you cannot. From the top it reads as a clean four prong oval solitaire on a smooth polished band. Turn it to the side and a full row of tiny round moissanite accents appears, wrapped around the underside of the setting in a hidden halo that runs the complete circumference of the basket.

The part that makes this design different from a standard hidden halo is the shoulder. Instead of carrying the same thickness all the way around, the band narrows slightly as it rises toward the head, then flares back out at the base of the finger. That taper does two things. It makes the centre oval look longer and wider than the same stone would look on a straight even band, and it gives the hidden halo room to sit clear of the shank so light passes straight through the gallery.

The 2 mm rounded profile is substantial enough to feel solid and to hold a large centre stone securely, but the taper at the shoulders keeps it from looking bulky next to a wedding band.

Wearing and stacking

The band is round in cross section and free of accent stones on the outer surface, so a plain or pave wedding band sits flush against it without rubbing stones together. The slight lift under the head means most straight wedding bands will tuck neatly beneath the setting.

Care

Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush, paying attention to the underside of the basket where the hidden halo sits. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth. Take the ring off before swimming, cleaning with bleach or lifting weights.

Will the hidden halo be visible when I wear it
From directly above, no. It shows when you turn your hand or when someone looks at the ring from the side, which is exactly the effect the design is going for.

Does the hidden halo make the centre stone look bigger
It adds a bright collar of light just under the oval, so the setting reads larger overall even though the centre stone itself is unchanged.

Which carat size suits a smaller finger
On finger sizes 4 to 6 the 2 carat and 3 carat ovals sit within the width of the finger. The 4 carat and 5 carat ovals will extend toward the knuckle, which many buyers want, but it is worth picturing before choosing.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery, and it does not cloud or lose brilliance with age.
