A three stone ring built for scale. The oval centre stone stands upright while two generous emerald cut moissanites sit either side of it, turned sideways so their long edges run across the finger rather than along it. That east west placement widens the whole head, and because emerald cut is a step cut, the side stones give broad mirror like flashes instead of the small sparkle of round accents.

The contrast is the point. A brilliant faceted oval next to two step cut rectangles reads as two different kinds of light in one ring, and the slim band underneath keeps all the attention at the top.

Wearing and stacking

The head is wide, so a contoured or slightly curved wedding band sits best against it. A straight band will meet the shank cleanly at the sides but leave a small gap under the head, which many people like.

Care

Wash with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, taking care to clean the open galleries under each stone where step cuts show dust most. Dry with a lint free cloth. Remove before swimming or heavy work.

How large are the side stones
They are proportioned to the centre you choose, roughly one third of the centre weight each, so a 3 carat oval is flanked by side stones near 1 carat apiece.

Why are emerald cuts less sparkly than the centre
Step cuts use long parallel facets that reflect light in broad flashes rather than many small ones. The effect is clear and glassy, which is exactly why they contrast so well with the brilliant cut oval.

Does the east west orientation make the ring wider
