One stone, one band, nothing else. The shank is a 3 mm half round with a true comfort fit inside, meaning the inner surface is domed rather than flat so the ring rolls over the knuckle instead of gripping it. Four slim claws hold the oval at a low height directly on the shank. There is no gallery, no halo hidden underneath and no accent stones anywhere: the appeal is the weight of solid metal on the finger and a clean uninterrupted outline. Design and craftsmanship

Comfort fit is a real construction detail, not a marketing phrase. The inside of the band is domed, which means the shank has to be made thicker overall to keep the same strength, and the doming has to be even all the way round or the ring will feel like it has a high spot. Our goldsmiths form the outer half round first, then work the inside curve and check the wall thickness at several points before the head is attached. The claws are filed thin and tapered so a wide band does not end up looking heavy at the top. Every ring is finished by hand in our Surat workshop.

How moissanite compares to a diamond

Moissanite is silicon carbide, a different material from diamond rather than a lower grade of one. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, it is hard enough for daily wear. With nothing else on the ring, the centre stone carries everything, and moissanite returns more coloured fire than a diamond of the same size. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, makes the most of a design that is mostly metal. Rose gold does the same in a warmer tone. White gold keeps the focus on the stone. In 14K a 3 mm comfort fit band is close to indestructible in normal wear, and 925 sterling silver gives the same substantial feel at the lowest price.

Ring size

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. Comfort fit rings often feel slightly looser than a flat band of the same marked size, so if you are between sizes take the smaller one here, which is the opposite of our flat wide bands.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone is lab created moissanite and there are no other stones. We never describe it as a diamond.

What is comfort fit?
The inside surface of the band is domed rather than flat, so only the centre of the band touches the finger. It slides over the knuckle more easily and feels less tight through the day.

How is this different from your domed band hidden halo ring?
Same substantial feel, but that one has a hidden halo of accents under the stone. This one has no accent stones at all and uses a true comfort fit inside, so it is the plainer and more comfortable of the two.

Should I size up or down?
Comfort fit rings tend to feel a touch looser than a standard band of the same size. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Yes, and a matching comfort fit band pairs naturally. The head is low so nothing gets in the way.

Does a wide band suit a smaller hand?
It covers more of the finger and can make it look shorter. If you prefer a lengthening effect, choose one of our slimmer bands, or ask us to make this design at 2 mm.

Which centre size suits it?
Three carat and above balances the width of the band best. A 2 carat on a 3 mm band is a deliberately understated look.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush around the four claws, then rinse and pat dry. With no accents this is one of the easiest rings we make to look after.

How long does it take to make?
