The choice of a radiant cut for the sides is what makes this ring work, and it is worth being precise about what a radiant is. It has the outline of a rectangle with the corners cut off, like an emerald cut, but its facets are arranged as a brilliant, in triangles and kites rather than in long parallel steps. That combination is unusual and useful. The straight sides and clipped corners give the ring the architectural, deliberately geometric silhouette that a deco three stone needs, while the brilliant faceting means the side stones actually sparkle at the same rate as the oval between them. Set an emerald cut beside an oval and the sides read as calm flat mirrors next to a lively centre, which some people want and some do not. Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

What is a radiant cut

How is a radiant different from an emerald cut
They share the same outline. An emerald cut is step cut, so it flashes in broad calm planes. A radiant is brilliant cut, so it scintillates. Beside a brilliant oval a radiant matches in liveliness while an emerald cut deliberately contrasts.

How is this different from your other three stone rings

Why buy a lab grown diamond
