Simplicity is easy to specify and hard to execute, because when there is only one stone and one line of metal, every proportion is exposed. Three things decide whether a plain oval solitaire looks right. The claws must be long enough to hold the curved ends of the stone securely and thin enough that they do not interrupt the outline, which is why they are drawn out and rounded here rather than left as flat pads. The basket must be open, because an oval is shallow relative to its spread and needs light entering from below to avoid a dull centre. And the band must be narrower than the stone is wide, or the eye stops reading the diamond as the largest thing on the ring. Get those three right and no decoration is needed, which is the argument this design makes.

Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behaviour as a mined diamond and is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate

Why does an oval look larger than a round
The elongated outline spreads the same weight over more surface area, so a two carat oval covers noticeably more of the finger than a two carat round.

Will a plain solitaire sit flush with a wedding band
Yes, better than almost any other design, because the shank meets the head with no halo or shoulder stones in the way.

Is a thin band strong enough
Yes for normal wear. We can make the shank heavier without changing the look if you work with your hands.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, easily. There are no stones in the band.

How long does the ring take to make
