An oval cut lab grown diamond in four claws on a broad domed band that narrows sharply as it approaches the head, with a deep V shaped notch cut into the top of each shoulder so the two arms read as a pair of points converging under the stone.

The shank is where all the work is. It starts wide and strongly domed across the palm, the profile of a substantial band rather than a wire, and then it does something a plain tapered band never does. Instead of narrowing smoothly, a deep V is cut down into the top surface of each shoulder, splitting the wide metal into two arms that converge to a point directly beneath the stone. The effect is a set of clean straight lines running inward from a heavy rounded band to a sharp junction at the head, and it is what gives the ring its whole character. It also has a practical result. Cutting that V removes the bulk from exactly the place where a wide band would otherwise crowd the base of the diamond, so a heavy shank can carry a large stone without the stone appearing to sit in a socket. The head itself is deliberately bare, four claws rising straight off the converging arms with no collar, no basket and no accent stones anywhere on the ring.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is the V notch for
It removes bulk from the part of a wide band that would otherwise crowd the base of the diamond, so a heavy shank can carry a large stone without the stone looking sunk into a socket. It also gives the shoulders a set of clean straight lines.

How is this different from your other domed solitaire
Our other domed design has a rounded pinched waist and a hidden halo. This one has no accent stones at all and a sharply cut V rather than a rounded pinch.

Is a wide domed band comfortable
Yes. A dome distributes pressure across a curve instead of along two edges, which is why domed bands are usually the most comfortable wide profile. The interior is comfort rounded as well.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it
A straight band meets the widest part of the shank cleanly, but the V notches leave a small gap at the shoulders. A gently contoured band closes it, and we can make one to match.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, comfortably. The band is plain and unset, though on a wide domed shank we would rather remake than stretch, so tell us if your size is uncertain.

How long does the ring take to make
The dome is worked and the notches cut and polished by hand, so allow eighteen to twenty two working days before dispatch.
