An oval cut lab grown diamond in four slim claws on a fine round shank that opens into a narrow slit at each shoulder before closing again at the head, with no halo, no accents and no basket beneath the stone.

This is the plainest ring in the collection and the slit is the only thing happening in it. As the shank approaches the head it separates into two very fine strands that run alongside one another for a short distance, leaving a long narrow opening between them, then converge again to carry the claws. It is a small amount of work with a disproportionate effect. The opening breaks up what would otherwise be a solid mass of metal at the shoulders, so the band appears finer than it actually is and the centre stone gains a little more visual room. It also lets light through the shoulders from underneath, which stops the metal reading as a dark block beside a bright stone. Beyond that there is nothing: no collar, no hidden halo, no gallery rail, and no stones anywhere except the one. A ring like this has nowhere to hide a poor proportion, which is precisely why it is worth making carefully.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is a split slit shoulder

Why bother with the slit

How is this different from your other plain solitaires
Others use a half round band with a cross braced basket, a broad dome with V notched shoulders, four flat tab claws, or six talons drawn from the shank. This is the simplest of them, a fine round band with a slit at each shoulder.

Does it look small
It looks fine rather than small, and a fine band makes the centre stone look larger by contrast. If you want more presence on the finger we can widen the shank.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it
Yes. Nothing projects at the shoulders, so a straight band meets it cleanly on either side.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, comfortably. The band is plain and unset.
