An oval cut lab grown diamond held by four claws that finish in small polished spheres rather than flat pads, on a fine round shank with nothing else on the ring at all.

The whole design rests on how the claws end. A conventional claw is filed flat and rounded off, so it disappears against the stone and the eye reads only diamond. Here each claw swells into a small polished ball where it folds over the girdle, and that changes what you see. Four bright points of metal now sit on the outline of the oval at even intervals, so the stone gets a punctuated edge instead of a continuous one, and each ball throws its own small highlight that moves independently of the diamond's own fire. It is a detail borrowed from antique jewellery, where bead tipped claws were common, and it gives a very plain ring a piece of ornament without adding a single accent stone. Below the head the basket is a simple open cage, there is no halo and no under bezel, and the shank is a fine round wire of even width the whole way round.

Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate

What is a ball tipped claw
A claw whose end is finished as a small polished sphere sitting on the stone, rather than filed into a flat rounded pad.

Do ball tips hold the stone as securely as ordinary claws
Yes. The ball sits over the girdle exactly as a filed tip does and carries slightly more metal, so if anything there is a little more material holding the stone.

Do they catch on clothing
Less than a pointed or talon claw, because a sphere has no edge. They sit close to the stone and present a rounded surface in every direction.
