Three quarter coverage is a specific choice rather than a compromise between plain and full eternity. Diamonds run from the head down both shoulders and around the sides of the finger, then stop cleanly and leave the last quarter, the part that faces the palm, as solid unset metal. That solid section is what makes the ring practical. It is the part that takes the wear from keys, handles and door frames, it is where a jeweller can cut and rejoin the shank when the ring is resized, and it is the section that sits against the neighbouring finger, so nothing hard or faceted rubs there. Everything you actually see is set. The pave is French cut, which means each stone sits in a small V shaped scallop rather than a flat channel, so metal is cut away beneath the girdle and light enters the accents from the side as well as the top. That is why a French pave shank reads as a continuous line of light rather than as separate stones in a wall of metal. Under the head, a full row of round brilliants circles the basket below the girdle of the oval, invisible from above and bright in profile.

Band details

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What does three quarter coverage mean
The pave runs from the head around three quarters of the shank and stops, leaving the section against the palm as plain metal. Everything visible on the hand is set.

Why not set diamonds all the way round
The palm section takes the most wear and is where the ring is cut for resizing. Leaving it solid makes the ring stronger, easier to resize and more comfortable against the next finger.

What is French pave
Each accent sits in a small V shaped cut in the metal rather than a flat seat, so light reaches the stone from the side as well as above. It produces a brighter, more continuous line than standard bead set pave.

Will the pave stones fall out
Each stone is held by its own beads raised from the metal of the shank. We check and tighten every setting free of charge whenever the ring comes in for cleaning.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, within two or three sizes, because the plain quarter gives a jeweller solid metal to cut and rejoin without disturbing any setting.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order and every accent is set by hand, so allow sixteen to twenty working days before dispatch.
