Oval Cut Lab Grown Diamond Ring on a Slim Tapering Micropave Band

An oval cut lab grown diamond in four rounded claws on a band fine enough to disappear on the finger, set with micropavé that narrows as it descends and runs out to a point rather than stopping at an edge.

The band here is deliberately at the thin end of what can be built and still worn every day, and everything follows from that. The pavé has to be micropavé, because ordinary accent stones would not fit across a shank this fine, and micropavé in turn gives a continuous ribbon of light rather than a row of countable stones. The run then tapers twice over. The stones grow smaller toward the palm, and the band itself narrows with them, so the pavé does not end at a step or a squared edge but thins away to a point and vanishes into plain metal. That is why the shoulders look as if they are drawn rather than assembled. Against all this the head is deliberately generous: four rounded claws with real body to them, holding the stone directly with no halo, no hidden halo and no under bezel, so the contrast between a substantial head and a barely present band is the entire design.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is micropavé
Pavé using very small stones set with correspondingly fine beads, so the row reads as a continuous ribbon of light rather than a line of individual diamonds.

Is a band this fine strong enough
Yes, in 14K or 18K gold or in platinum. We would suggest 14K or 18K rather than sterling silver for daily wear at this width, because silver is a softer metal and will go out of round sooner.

Why does the pavé taper to a point
Because the stones and the band narrow together. It means the set section flows into the plain section instead of stopping at a visible edge, which suits a fine band far better than a squared finish.

Will a fine band make the diamond look bigger
Yes, noticeably. The narrower the shank beside it, the larger the centre stone reads, which is the main reason to choose a band this slim.

How is this different from your other oval pavé rings
Others use a squared hidden halo with pavé along a domed crest, large French set accents ending in a step, a fine pavé eternity under a hidden halo, or a close set halo. This is the only one with a very slim band whose micropavé and width taper away together, with no halo of any kind.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The palm side is plain, which is where a sizing cut is made, well below the set section.

A fine band gives the centre stone nowhere to hide, and a large oval above a thin shank is looked at more closely than one on a heavy ring.
