The basket is the entire design and it is worth understanding what has been changed. A conventional basket is a plain collar with four legs, a purely functional part that holds the stone and is not meant to be looked at. Here it has been rebuilt as a lotus: a ring of pointed petals rising between the claws, each one curving outward and upward so its tip sits just under the girdle of the stone, and each one bead set with a small cluster of diamonds along its face. Because the petals sit between the claws rather than behind them, they are visible from every direction except straight down, so the ring is plain from above and floral in profile. That is a deliberate order of events. The person wearing it sees a clean oval solitaire looking down at their own hand, and everyone else sees the petals. The band is a fine round wire with nothing on it at all, which keeps every piece of ornament concentrated at the head where it belongs.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is a petal or lotus basket
The basket beneath the stone is formed as a ring of pointed petals rising between the claws, instead of a plain collar with four legs. Here each petal is also pavé set.

Why is the ring plain from above but floral from the side
Because the petals sit between the claws, below the girdle. Looking straight down you see a clean oval solitaire; from any other angle the petals and their diamonds are visible.

How is this different from your other basket designs
One uses a plain tulip basket, one a leaf pierced gallery, one petal claws under a solid metal halo plate. This is the only one whose petals are themselves pavé set.

Does the petal basket make the stone sit higher
Slightly, because the petals need room to rise beneath the girdle. It also leaves the sides of the pavilion more open than a solid collar would.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it
Yes. The petals are at the head, not the shoulders, so a straight band meets the fine shank cleanly.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, comfortably. The band is plain and unset.
