An oval cut lab grown diamond in four claws with a small spray of one marquise and two round diamonds growing from each shoulder, on a slender band worked as a vine and edged along its length with fine milgrain beading.

The accents are arranged as sprays rather than rows. On each shoulder a marquise sits furthest out with its long axis angled away from the centre, and two round brilliants of different sizes tuck in behind it at slightly different heights. Nothing is aligned and nothing is mirrored exactly, which is the point, because a real sprig of new growth is never symmetrical. That asymmetry is what stops the ring reading as a manufactured accent shank and makes it read as something that grew. Underneath the sprays the band is not a plain wire. It is formed as a slender vine that swells slightly where the sprays leave it and thins between them, and the whole length is edged with milgrain beading. The milgrain does something specific on an organic band. A plain polished vine catches one long highlight down its length and reads as smooth metal. A beaded edge breaks that highlight into a row of tiny points that follows every swell and taper, so the shape of the vine stays legible instead of flattening out. Above it all the oval sits in four plain claws with no halo, no basket decoration and nothing else competing.

Band details

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Why are the accents not symmetrical
Because a real sprig of growth is not. Setting the stones at slightly different heights and angles is what makes the sprays read as botanical rather than as a manufactured cluster.

What is milgrain doing on this ring
Tracing the shape. A polished vine catches one long highlight and looks flat. A beaded edge breaks that into points that follow every swell and taper, so the form stays readable.

Will the marquise points snag
No. Each point is set under a claw rather than left standing at the edge of the shoulder.

Will the milgrain wear smooth
The beads soften slightly over many years, mostly on the palm side. We recut and re-bead the edge during servicing whenever you want it sharpened.

Can this ring be resized
Within about one size at the back. Larger changes interrupt the milgrain and the taper of the vine, so we prefer to remake the shank.

How long does the ring take to make
The vine is shaped, the sprays set individually and the milgrain worked by hand, so allow eighteen to twenty two working days before dispatch.
