Oval Cut Lab Grown Diamond Ring on a Full Coverage Pave Band with Hidden Halo

An oval cut lab grown diamond in four claws over a concealed halo, on a very fine shank set with micropave diamonds running the full visible length of the band on both the top surface and the outer sides.

Full coverage means the pave does not stop at the shoulders. It continues down each side of the finger and around the outer curve so that from any angle you can see the ring, you see stones. The shank underneath is deliberately made as thin as it can safely be, because on a full pave band the width of the metal is what decides whether the ring looks refined or heavy. Ours is under two millimetres, which means the individual accents are small, and small accents at high density produce a different optical effect from fewer larger ones. Instead of individual points of light you get a continuous white line that reads almost like a strip of light lying on the finger. That is the correct partner for a large oval, because it gives the eye a bright rail leading up to the centre stone without ever competing with it for attention. The head sits directly on that rail with no gallery rail or riser, and a hidden halo circles the basket below the girdle, so the transition from band to stone is unbroken light.

Band details

The shank is very fine, under two millimetres wide, pave set on the top face and both outer walls. The inner surface against the finger is smooth polished metal and is comfort rounded.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is shown in the photographs, where the metal between the stones disappears completely and the band reads as a single line of light.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is micropave
Very small accent diamonds set close together and held by tiny beads raised from the metal itself. At this size the individual stones stop being readable and the row reads as continuous light.

Does full coverage pave make the ring hard to resize
Harder than a plain shank, yes. We can usually adjust by about one size. Beyond that we rebuild the shank and reset the pave, which we do at cost within the first year.

Will the small stones come loose
Micropave needs checking every year or two, which is normal for any pave ring. We tighten and re-check every setting free of charge for life whenever the ring comes in.

Why is the band so thin
Because a thin band next to a large oval exaggerates the size of the stone, and because a wide full pave shank starts to look like a cocktail ring rather than an engagement ring.

Does this ring sit flush with a wedding band
Yes. The shank is straight and the head sits low, so a matching pave band meets it cleanly on both sides.

How long does the ring take to make
A full coverage shank carries a great many stones, all set by hand, so allow twenty to twenty four working days before dispatch.
