An oval lab grown diamond is held in four claws with a small fan of pear cut accents opening outward from each side. The accents are not laid flat along the shank in the usual way. They are tilted, each one turned a little further than the last, so the shoulder rises from the thin band and widens into the centre stone like a wing.

The reason for the fan is a problem of proportion that every side stone design has to solve. A single accent placed beside a large oval either looks too small to matter or too large to be an accent. A fan of three graduated pears solves it by spreading the transition across several steps, so the eye travels from a narrow band to a wide centre without ever meeting an abrupt edge. Each pear is set with its point aimed at the girdle of the oval, which does two things at once: it keeps the tips protected inside the cluster rather than exposed at the outside edge, where a pear is most fragile, and it makes every accent point toward the same place, so the whole shoulder reads as one gesture instead of three separate stones.

Band details

Below the cluster the shank narrows quickly to a slim polished wire. The contrast is deliberate. A thin band under a wide shoulder makes the top of the ring look broader than it is, and it keeps the weight of the design in the upper half where it can be seen.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. The photographs show yellow gold, where the warm metal reads clearly through the gaps in the fan and gives each accent an outline.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It is carbon in the same crystal structure as a mined diamond, with the same hardness and the same optical properties, graded on the same scales.

Does the ring come with a certificate

Are pear cut accents fragile
The point of a pear is its weakest area, which is exactly why the fan turns each tip inward. The vulnerable end sits inside the cluster, shielded by the claws and by the neighbouring stones.

Will the cluster catch on clothing
No. The accents are small and set close to the finger, and the outer edges of the fan are rounded, so the profile stays smooth.

Can I have a different centre shape
Yes. Pear fans work well with pear, marquise and cushion centres. Tell us which you prefer and we will adjust the fan angles to suit.

Does this ring sit flush with a wedding band
The shoulders are raised, so a contoured band follows the line most closely. We can make a matching band for the same order.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order. Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days before dispatch.
