This ring has no side stones. The shank is completely plain, which keeps the profile slim and makes it easy to wear a wedding band flush against it later. If you would like pave along the shoulders or a hidden halo beneath the basket, we can build that version to order.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. White gold is the classic choice for a colourless solitaire because there is no warm metal near the stone to influence how it reads. Yellow gold gives the same ring a softer, more vintage feel. Rose gold sits between the two. For a ring worn every day, 14K is harder than 18K and holds prongs better over the years.

Why choose a plain solitaire over a pave setting?
A plain shank has nothing to snag, nothing to loosen and nothing to clean around. It is the lowest maintenance engagement ring you can buy, and it lets you add a diamond wedding band later without the two rings competing.

Does an oval look bigger than a round diamond?
Yes, at the same carat weight. An oval spreads its weight along a longer axis, so more of the stone shows face up, and the elongated shape also makes the finger look longer.

What is the bow tie in an oval?
It is a dark band across the centre of some ovals, caused by the way light is blocked in the middle of the stone. We select ovals with excellent cut and symmetry specifically to keep the bow tie faint.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, same hardness, same brilliance as a mined diamond. The difference is only how it was formed.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone is included with every order, listing its colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Because the shank is straight and plain, a straight wedding band sits flush on both sides of the head. Ovals with a low setting like this one do not usually need a contoured band.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time to your address.
