An oval cut lab grown diamond over a hidden halo, on a clean unadorned shank. This is the plainest way we build an oval, and for a lot of buyers it is the right one. There is no pave, no split shank, no spaced accents and nothing twisted or wrapped. The only diamonds beyond the centre stone are the small rounds tucked beneath the basket, invisible from above and visible in profile. What you get is the oval itself, shown at full size with nothing competing with it. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate for the centre diamond. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. With a bare band the metal is half of what you see, so the colour choice carries more weight here than on a stone set design. A plain shank also polishes back to new easily, which is part of why this version ages well. For everyday wear 14K is harder than 18K.

Frequently asked questions

Which of your oval rings should I choose?
If you want the simplest version, this one. We also build the oval with a pave band, with spaced round accents, with a split shank, with a twisted shank and as an all-oval trilogy. They share the same centre stone quality, so the choice is about how much is happening around it.

Why choose a plain band?
Nothing to snag, nothing that can loosen, easier cleaning, and the simplest style to resize later. It is also the most band friendly, since a wedding ring sits flush against a straight plain shank.

What is the bow tie in an oval?
A faint dark band across the middle of the stone where light is blocked. Every oval shows some. We select for excellent cut and symmetry to keep it minimal, but no oval is completely free of it and anyone claiming otherwise is overselling.

Does a hidden halo make the stone look bigger?
Slightly, because it lifts the stone and adds a band of light beneath it. From directly above you see the oval alone.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping.
