An oval cut lab grown diamond in four claws over a hidden halo, on a band shaped like a bamboo stem. The shank is not a uniform circle. It swells and narrows along its length the way a bamboo cane does, with raised knots at intervals, and a small round diamond is set into each knot. Bamboo is the point rather than the decoration. It is the plant that bends without breaking, and in most of Asia it stands for resilience and long life, which is a reasonably good thing to build a marriage ring around. Structurally the swellings also put extra metal exactly where a thin shank would otherwise be weakest. Free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Accent stones and band

The shank is shaped as a bamboo stem, swelling and narrowing along its length with raised knots at intervals. A small round brilliant lab grown diamond is set into each knot. Beneath the centre stone a row of pave is hidden inside the basket.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, makes the bamboo form most convincing because the warm metal reads as living cane. White gold and sterling silver turn it into something more abstract and architectural. Rose gold is the softest.

What is a bamboo knot band?
A shank shaped to imitate a bamboo cane, swelling between raised knots rather than running at a constant width. Here each knot carries a small diamond.

Why bamboo?
Across most of Asia bamboo stands for resilience and longevity, because it bends under load and springs back rather than snapping. It is an unusual and quite deliberate symbol for a ring meant to last.

Does the shaping weaken the band?
No, the opposite. The swellings add metal at intervals along the shank, so there is more material than a uniformly thin band of the same overall weight.

What is a hidden halo?
A row of small diamonds set into the basket beneath the centre stone, facing outward instead of upward. Invisible from above, it lights the profile and lifts the head slightly.

Is it comfortable given the shaping?
Yes. The knots are on the outer surface only and the inner face of the band is smooth and rounded.

Does it sit with a wedding band?
A shaped shank leaves small gaps against a straight band. A matching bamboo band sits far better and we can make one to pair with it.
