A marquise cut lab grown diamond in six claws above a hidden halo, on a band set with a single row of pave. The hidden halo is itself marquise shaped, drawn to a point at each end to follow the outline of the stone above it rather than sitting underneath as a round or oval collar. From directly above this reads as a clean claw set marquise on a pave shank with no halo at all. The collar only appears in profile, running the full pointed length of the stone. It is the only marquise we make with a hidden halo rather than a visible one, and the difference matters on this shape, because a visible halo widens the outline while a hidden one leaves the marquise looking exactly as narrow and long as it is. The hidden halo shows only from the side, so warm metals give it a distinct glow against the gold as the hand moves. White gold makes the collar and the pave read as one continuous line of light.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the underside of the centre stone, below the girdle. It is invisible from above and only appears when the ring is viewed from the side.

How is this different from your marquise halo ring?
That ring has a visible halo that surrounds the stone at the top and makes it read considerably larger. This one hides the accent stones underneath, so from above the marquise keeps its own narrow outline and the surprise is only visible in profile.

Why does the hidden halo need to be marquise shaped?
Because the stone is. A round or oval collar under a pointed outline leaves the tips unsupported visually and looks like a mismatched component from the side.

Why six claws?
V tips protect both points and two claws on each flank shorten the unsupported spans along the long curved sides, which is where a marquise is most exposed.

Does a marquise look bigger than other shapes?
Yes. A marquise has one of the largest face up areas per carat of any cut, and set north south it lengthens the finger.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.
