Marquise Cut Lab Grown Diamond Ring with Heart Cut Side Stones

A marquise cut lab grown diamond set north to south, with a heart cut diamond on each side turned so its point faces the centre stone and its two lobes face outward, on a fine plain yellow gold band.

The three stones together make a shape none of them has on its own. A marquise is a pointed oval, wide in the middle and tapering to a tip at each end. Placing a heart at each side with its point inward fills the space beside that widest section, and the outer lobes of the hearts finish the outline as two more curves. What you see from above is a four pointed silhouette, with points at the top and bottom from the marquise and points at the left and right where the heart lobes meet, and it reads as a single designed outline rather than as three separate stones sitting in a row. It is also the reason the hearts are turned this way round. Reverse them, so the lobes face the centre, and the cleft of each heart would sit against the marquise, leaving two small dark notches exactly where the eye is trying to read a continuous edge.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behaviour as a mined diamond and is graded on the same scales.

Why do the hearts point inward
So their outer lobes finish the silhouette. Turned the other way, the cleft of each heart would leave a dark notch against the marquise.

Are heart cut side stones hard to match
Yes. Both must be cut to the same lobe width and cleft depth or the ring looks lopsided, which is why they are usually cut as a pair from the start.

How long does the ring take to make
