A marquise cut lab grown diamond over a hidden halo, on a band deliberately kept bare. This is the low maintenance version of the marquise hidden halo. No pave, no accent stones, nothing bead set anywhere on the shank, so there is nothing to snag, nothing to work loose and nothing to clean around. The only diamonds beyond the centre stone are the small ones tucked under the basket, invisible from above and visible in profile. If you want a striking stone but do not want a ring that needs attention, this is the one to look at. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate. Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. With a bare band the metal is a large part of what you see, so the colour choice carries more weight than it would on a pave design. A plain shank in any metal also polishes back to new easily, which is part of why this version ages well. For everyday wear 14K is harder than 18K.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a plain band over pave?
Three practical reasons. Nothing to catch on clothing, nothing that can loosen and need re-tightening, and far easier cleaning. A plain shank is also the simplest style to resize later if your size changes.

Is it easier to wear with a wedding band?
Yes. A straight plain shank lets a wedding band sit flush against it, and there are no pave beads at the join to rub. It is the most band-friendly of our marquise settings.

Does it look plainer than the pave versions?
It is quieter, deliberately. The hidden halo still gives you a line of light under the stone in profile. If you want visible sparkle running down the finger, our marquise pave listings are the better fit and we would rather you bought the right one.

Are the marquise points protected?
Yes. Both tips sit under V prongs that cap the thinnest part of the stone in metal, which is essential on a marquise.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time to your address.
