The band is made of two round strands wound around each other like rope. They separate just below the centre stone, twist twice along each shoulder, then come back together as a single shank at the back.

There are no stones anywhere on the band. The pattern is entirely in the way the metal is wound.

How it compares

Our braided pave vine ring is the same idea taken as far as it will go: many strands, stones all over, a 3 mm band. This is the quiet version. Two strands, no stones, a normal width band. It costs a fraction as much and reads as a texture rather than a statement.

Why an emerald cut

A twist is a repeating pattern, and repeating patterns can start to look busy next to a stone that also scatters light. A step cut does not scatter; it gives long calm reflections that let the twist stay the only movement in the ring.

Wearing and stacking

The strands rejoin at the back, so a wedding band meets a smooth surface there. Where the twist runs along the shoulders a straight band will leave a small gap. A matching twisted wedding band pairs neatly if you want the two to read as a set.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. A twist has to be wound evenly, since the eye picks up an uneven pitch immediately. We wind both strands together in one pass rather than casting the pattern. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 14 to 18 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Run the brush along the groove between the two strands. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Yes. The strands are rounded, and the inside of the band is finished smooth so the twist is only on the outside.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes in either direction, at the joined section at the back.

Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
