Instead of a continuous pave row, the accents on this band are set one at a time with bare polished metal between them. They alternate in size, large then small then large, and each sits in its own pair of claws so it stands slightly clear of the band.

The spacing is what makes the design. A pave row reads as a line of light; spaced stones read as separate points, and the gaps between them are as much a part of the pattern as the stones.

How it compares

Our French pave band emerald ring runs a continuous row of small stones along the shoulder. This one uses fewer, larger stones spread further apart. It costs less to make than a full pave band, and it wears differently: the stones are big enough to see individually rather than reading as a single sparkling line.

Why an emerald cut

Spaced accents give the eye a rhythm to follow along the band. A step cut at the head stops that rhythm cleanly rather than adding more sparkle to it.

Wearing and stacking

The accents stand slightly proud of the band, so a wedding band worn tight against this ring will touch the claws rather than the metal. A small gap or a curved band avoids that.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Spacing has to be measured, not eyeballed: an accent a fraction out of line is obvious when there is bare metal either side of it. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 12 to 16 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. The gaps make this an easy ring to clean, since nothing is trapped between stones. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Why alternate the sizes
Equal stones spaced apart look like a dotted line. Alternating them gives the run a rhythm and makes the band look less mechanical.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes. The back of the band carries no stones.

Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
