Coming up from the back, the band swells outward and flattens into a broad sculpted curve, then divides into two arms that meet the stone from either side. The split leaves a long teardrop shaped opening at each shoulder that you can see straight through.

The whole thing is polished metal. There are no stones except the centre, and no engraving or texture anywhere.

The band is a standard 2 mm where it sits at the back of the finger. It widens at the shoulders as part of the sculpted shape, and that extra metal is already included in the price shown. There is no surcharge at checkout.

How it compares

Our other split shank emerald rings hold the stone in a bezel and keep the arms slim. This one is the opposite: the metal is the point. The flare is wide and flat where it catches light, and the openings are shaped rather than simply cut. If you want a plain ring that still has a strong silhouette, this is the one.

Why an emerald cut

A ring built from broad flat planes needs a stone with broad flat planes. The table of an emerald cut is the largest single flat surface of any cut, and it sits in this setting as a continuation of the metal rather than a contrast to it.

Wearing and stacking

Because the flare is at the shoulders rather than the base, the ring is comfortable to wear and slim where it sits between the fingers. A straight wedding band meets the narrow back cleanly but will not follow the flare, so a contoured band pairs better if you want them flush.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. On a plain sculpted ring the finish is everything, since a broad polished surface shows every mark. Each one is filed and polished through several grades before final buffing. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 14 to 18 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Push the brush through the teardrop openings. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth, wiping the flat surfaces in one direction.

No. Only the centre stone.

Is the wide part uncomfortable
No. The widening happens on top of the finger, not between the fingers. The back of the band stays a normal 2 mm.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes in either direction, at the narrow back of the band.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
