The accents on this ring are not lined up. Marquise cuts sit at different angles, some above the band line and some below it, with small rounds dropped between them like buds. Nothing repeats exactly, and the two sides do not mirror each other.

Underneath it all the band is a plain rounded shank, so the scattered accents look as though they have grown onto a smooth branch rather than been set into a pattern.

How it compares

Our twisted vine emerald ring carries its leaves along two intertwined strands, so the metal itself does the work. Here the band stays plain and the scattering does it instead. The result is lighter and less obviously botanical. It reads as a solitaire with something growing on it rather than as a branch.

Why an emerald cut

An emerald cut is completely regular, which is what makes the irregular accents work. If the centre stone were also organic in outline the ring would have no anchor.

Wearing and stacking

Because the accents sit at different heights, a straight wedding band will touch the ring at one or two points rather than lying flush. Many people wear this one on its own or with a band on the other hand.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Every accent seat is cut individually at its own angle. There is no template for a scattered setting, which is why no two of these rings come out identical. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 14 to 18 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Work the brush in different directions around the accents, since they do not all face the same way. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Twelve in total, six to each side.

Are the two sides identical
No, and that is intentional. They are balanced in weight but not mirrored.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes. The back of the band carries no stones.

Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
