The band is made of two strands that cross over each other twice on the way to the centre stone. One strand is polished and left bare, the other carries a single row of pave. Where they cross, the pave strand passes behind the plain one, so the row of stones appears and disappears as the ring turns.

Both strands merge into a single plain shank at the back, which keeps the ring comfortable and easy to size.

How it compares

Our twisted vine design is organic, with marquise leaves scattered at uneven intervals along a branch. This twist is the geometric version of the same idea, two even strands and one regular row of round stones. Choose this one if you want movement in the band without the ring reading as nature inspired.

Why an emerald cut

An emerald cut shows the stone rather than the sparkle. Broad flat facets step down toward the table and give long flashes of light instead of the scattered fire of a brilliant cut. The straight lines of the stone sit deliberately against the curve of the twist.

Wearing and stacking

The twist means a flat wedding band touches the ring only at the crossing points. A curved or twisted band matches it far better.

Made to order in Surat, India

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Both strands are formed separately and soldered at the crossings before any stone is set, because the twist has to be true before the seats are cut. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 10 to 14 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Work the brush into the gap between the two strands from both sides. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.
