A full bezel with a flat squared rim holds the stone all the way round, and the whole head is lifted clear of the band on an open loop so you can see daylight underneath. The band itself is a plain round wire, thinner than most, which is what makes the stone read as large.

How it compares

Our full bezel slim band ring sits low, with the stone close against the finger. This one lifts the head on an open loop, so light gets in underneath and the stone looks like it is floating above the band. The band is also thinner here, which exaggerates the difference in scale between the stone and the metal. If you want the biggest looking stone for the least metal, this is the design.

Why an emerald cut

An emerald cut spreads wider for its carat weight than almost any other shape, and a bezel shows the whole outline of that spread with no claws breaking the line. The two together give the maximum apparent size from a given stone.

Wearing and stacking

The bezel has no claws to catch, and the thin band lets a wedding ring sit tight against it. Because the head is raised, a straight band slides right up under the stone rather than stopping short.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. On a thin band the join between the loop and the shank is the weak point, so we forge that section rather than casting it thin. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 14 to 18 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Brush up through the open loop from underneath, since that is where anything collects. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Is a 1.6 mm band strong enough
Yes, in all our metals. It is thinner than average, which is the point of the design. If you are hard on jewellery, one of our 2 mm designs will wear better over decades.

Does the bezel hide part of the stone
It covers the girdle edge, the same as any bezel. The table and all the step facets stay fully visible.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes in either direction. The band is plain all the way round the back.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.

Which finger sizes are available
Sizes 3 to 13 including half sizes. Message us before ordering if you need something outside that range.
