From above this looks like a simple solitaire with a little pave at the shoulders. Turn it sideways and a second row of stones appears, set into the underside of the head where it meets the stone. That hidden halo is only visible in profile, which is exactly the point.

The pave on the shoulders is deliberately short. Four or five stones each side, close to the head, then plain metal the rest of the way round.

How it compares

Our other halo rings put the second ring of stones where everyone can see it. This one hides it. From the front the ring reads as clean and modern, and the extra sparkle only shows when the hand turns. If you want a halo but not the look of one, this is the design.

Why an emerald cut

A hidden halo works best under a stone with a flat wide girdle, because the row of accents sits in one straight line rather than curving out of sight. A step cut gives the cleanest result of any shape.

Wearing and stacking

The head sits a little higher than a plain solitaire to make room for the hidden row. A straight wedding band still meets the ring cleanly at the back and along most of the shank.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. The hidden halo is set before the centre stone goes in, because afterwards there is no access. It has to be right first time. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 16 to 20 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Brush from underneath so the hidden row stays bright, since that is where dust collects out of sight. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

You see it from the side and at an angle, not looking straight down. That is what people like about it: the sparkle is there when the hand moves.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes in either direction. The lower half of the band is plain.

Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
