Four marquise cut green emeralds sit two to each side of the centre stone, angled outwards like leaves growing from a stem. The band behind them is a single strand that loops over itself and opens into a small window before running plain to the back.

This is the only ring in our emerald cut range with coloured accents. The green reads clearly against yellow gold and reads cooler against white gold, so the metal you pick changes the ring more than usual.

About the green accents

Emerald is the May birthstone, which makes this a natural choice for a May birthday or anniversary. Emerald is softer than moissanite at 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, so the marquise stones here sit slightly below the height of the centre stone and are protected by the claws on either side.

How it compares

Every other ring in our emerald cut range uses colourless accents or none at all. This one is the exception. If you have been looking for a step cut centre stone with a second colour in the design rather than a plain metal or all white ring, this is the one to look at.

Why an emerald cut

A step cut centre reflects mostly white light rather than scattering rainbow flashes, which is exactly what you want next to a strong colour. The green stays green instead of competing with fire from the middle of the ring.

Wearing and stacking

The looped band sits low and the emeralds do not stand proud, so a straight wedding band lies close against it. Yellow or rose gold bands pick up the warmth of the metal; white gold keeps the contrast with the green sharper.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Setting a softer coloured stone next to a hard one means the emeralds go in last, after all the polishing is finished, so no heat or abrasive reaches them. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 16 to 20 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners or steam on this ring. Emerald does not tolerate them the way moissanite does. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Are the green stones as hard as the centre stone
No. Emerald is 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, moissanite is 9.25. The setting protects them, but treat this ring a little more gently than an all moissanite one.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes in either direction, at the plain back of the band. We remove the emeralds first if heat is needed.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.

Which finger sizes are available
