A clean rim of metal runs the whole way round the stone, with the corners cut at the same angle as the emerald cut so the outline stays true. The band that carries it is deliberately slim and round in section, which makes the bezel look larger and the stone look like it is floating on a wire.

How it compares

Our full bezel wide band emerald ring puts the same bezel on a 4 mm flat band, where the metal and the stone carry equal weight. This one puts it on a thin round wire instead. The stone dominates completely, the ring weighs far less, and it leaves room on the finger for a wedding band.

Why an emerald cut

A bezel follows the shape of whatever it holds. Straight edges and cut corners give it clean lines to follow, and the result is a rectangle of stone inside a rectangle of metal.

Nothing on this ring can catch. A straight wedding band sits flush against the slim band, and because the band is thin there is space for two.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. On a slim band the bezel has to be soldered dead square, because any lean shows immediately against a thin line of metal. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 10 to 14 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Run the brush around the join between the bezel and the stone. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Questions buyers ask

Does a bezel make the stone look smaller
Slightly, because the rim covers the girdle. Against a slim band the effect is largely cancelled out, since the thin shank makes the head read larger.

Will a slim band bend under a large stone
No. The band is thicker in section than it looks from above, and the bezel spreads the load across the top of the shank.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes. The band carries no stones.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
