Emerald Cut Moissanite Woven Braided Pave Hidden Halo Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite above a hidden halo, on a shank built from several strands that braid over and under one another all the way around the finger. Most of the strands carry bead set pave; the rest are polished metal, and they loop through each other in open knots on both shoulders. Beneath the setting the strands gather into a woven gallery. This is the most heavily worked ring in the collection.

Why this ring works

A braid has depth that a twist does not. Two strands crossing give you one layer of interest, while four or five interlacing give you strands that pass behind others and reappear, so the ring reads differently from every angle and keeps revealing detail at close range. Paving most of the strands but not all of them is what stops it becoming a solid glittering mass, because the plain strands read as shadow and let you see the weave. It is a lot of ring, deliberately, and it suits someone who wants the band to be as much of the design as the stone.

Setting and band

Four claw prongs hold the corners of the emerald cut above a hidden halo of round brilliant moissanite set into all four sides of the head. The shank is formed from multiple strands that braid over and under one another around the full circumference, looping into open knots at both shoulders and gathering into a woven gallery beneath the setting. Most strands are bead set with pave moissanite; the remainder are plain polished metal. Combined width across the braid is approximately three millimetres. Metal is solid throughout with a polished interior.

Metal options

Choose from recycled 925 sterling silver, or solid 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. Yellow gold, as photographed, is essential to this design, because the plain strands need their own colour for the weave to be legible. Rose gold does the same warmer. White gold and sterling silver flatten the braid into a single bright band and lose most of the structure. White gold is rhodium finished.

Ring sizing

Every ring is made to order in your size. Sizes run from 3 to 13, including half sizes. A braided shank of this complexity cannot be resized without disturbing the weave, so order the correct size. Contact us before ordering and we will help you confirm it.

Care

This ring has more places for dirt to collect than anything else here: a hidden halo under the stone, dozens of pave settings, and the gaps between every braided strand. Clean every two weeks with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush, working into the weave from several directions and upward under the head. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint free cloth.

Questions people ask

Why is this priced above the slim band designs? A three millimetre braided shank uses meaningfully more metal than a two millimetre band, and there are several times more accent settings. Our pricing adds for the extra width rather than hiding it.

Are the strands actually separate? Yes. They pass over and under one another with real gaps, rather than being cast as a surface pattern. That is what gives the braid its depth.

Can this be resized? Not meaningfully. Cutting the shank would break the weave. Every ring is made to order in your size for exactly this reason.

Which metal should I choose? Yellow or rose gold, without hesitation, so the plain strands read against the paved ones. For daily wear over decades, 14K balances colour and durability best.
