An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four claws above a milgrain edged hidden halo, on a band set with substantial French pave diamonds for three quarters of its circumference.

The pave here is the point of difference. Rather than the very small stones most pave bands use, this one carries diamonds large enough to be read individually, each held in a French cut seat where the metal is carved away into a V beneath the stone so that light passes through it from below rather than stopping at a flat floor. Between each pair of stones a small polished bead of metal rises to hold them, and the row runs unbroken from one shoulder round to the other, closing into plain metal at the back of the finger where a ring takes its wear.

Under the head the hidden halo is finished with a milgrain edge, a fine row of raised beads worked along the collar of the setting. That is a detail borrowed from Edwardian work and it does something useful here, softening the line where the metal of the halo meets the girdle of the emerald cut so the transition from stone to setting is not a hard edge. From directly above none of it is visible and the emerald cut keeps its clean rectangle.

Band details

A band of moderate width carrying French pave for three quarters of its circumference, closing into plain polished metal at the back. The profile is high enough for a wedding band to sit flush, and the interior is smoothed and comfort rounded.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is French pave
A pave setting where the metal beneath each stone is carved into a V shape rather than left flat, so light can pass through the stone from below. It is brighter than standard pave and leaves less metal visible between the diamonds.

Why use larger pave stones
Larger stones read as individual diamonds rather than as a dusting of sparkle, which balances better against a large emerald cut centre.

What is milgrain
A border of tiny raised beads worked into the metal with a knurling wheel. Here it edges the hidden halo and softens the join between setting and stone.

Why does the pave stop three quarters of the way round
The back of a ring takes the most contact. Leaving it plain keeps the ring durable and makes resizing possible without disturbing stones.

Do emerald cuts show inclusions more than other shapes
Yes. The open step facets hide far less than a brilliant does, which is why we use VVS2 clarity for the centre stone.

How is this different from your other pave emerald cut rings
Others use fine scalloped pave with very small stones, or a plain band. This one uses larger French cut pave and adds milgrain to the hidden halo.
