The band is worked to look like growth rather than metalwork. Two strands wind loosely around each other and are not identical, so where they cross the openings between them vary in size and the whole shank has the slight irregularity of something that grew rather than something that was drawn. That irregularity is deliberate and it is the hardest part of the piece to make well, because it has to look accidental while still being balanced left to right.

At each shoulder, where the branches gather before reaching the head, two marquise diamonds and a round sit together as a bud. The marquises are angled off the stem rather than lined up along it, and each one has its own fine claws. Above them the emerald cut sits square and still in four plain claws. That contrast between an organic band and a rigidly geometric step cut is what makes this design work, and it is why an emerald cut suits a branch setting better than a round brilliant does.

Band details

Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Why pair a branch band with an emerald cut
Because they are opposites. The band is irregular and organic, the stone is a precise rectangle, and each makes the other more noticeable. A round brilliant would blend into a nature inspired setting rather than standing against it.

Will a wedding band sit flush against a branch ring
A straight band leaves small gaps where the twist rises. We make a matching branch band that nests into the pattern and can quote for it with the ring.

Do the marquise buds catch on clothing
No. They lie against the shoulder rather than standing proud, and every claw is filed and polished smooth.

Do emerald cuts show inclusions more than other shapes
Yes. The open step facets hide far less than a brilliant does, which is why we use VVS2 clarity for the centre stone.

Can this ring be resized
