An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four claws over a bare open basket, on a band set with pave diamonds for three quarters of its circumference.

There is no halo of any kind on this ring, hidden or otherwise. The basket beneath the emerald cut is left completely bare, worked as an open frame with nothing set into it, so light passes straight through the stone from below and the underside of the setting reads as plain polished metal. That is a deliberate choice. A hidden halo lifts a stone and adds brightness under it, but it also raises the head. Leaving the basket bare keeps the emerald cut sitting as close to the finger as the claws allow.

The pave on the band is set in U shaped seats, each stone dropped into a curved cradle with a bead of metal raised at each corner to hold it, and the row runs from one shoulder round to the other before closing into plain metal at the back of the finger. Leaving that quarter plain is what allows the ring to be resized later and is where a ring takes most of its wear.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Why is there no hidden halo
A hidden halo adds light under the stone but raises the head. Leaving the basket bare keeps the emerald cut low and close to the finger, which many people prefer for daily wear.

What is a U shaped pave setting
Each diamond sits in a curved cradle cut into the metal rather than on a flat floor, with a bead raised at each corner to hold it. More of the stone is exposed, so more light reaches it.

Why does the pave stop three quarters of the way round
The back of a ring takes the most contact and wear, and leaving it plain is what makes resizing possible later without disturbing stones.

Do emerald cuts show inclusions more than other shapes
Yes. The open step facets hide far less than a brilliant does, which is why we use VVS2 clarity for the centre stone.

Will a wedding band sit flush
Close, but the low bare basket means a straight band meets the shank with only a very small gap. We can contour a band to close it entirely.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, within a modest range, using the plain quarter at the back.

How is this different from your other pave emerald cut rings
The others add a hidden halo under the stone, use scalloped or French seats, or run a full micro pave eternity. This one is the plainest of the pave designs, with a bare basket and U set stones.
