An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four claws on a polished cathedral band, with an open cut out worked into each shoulder where the shank rises to meet the setting. There are no accent stones.

A cathedral setting takes its name from the arches. Instead of the band running straight into the head, it lifts on both sides and curves up to support the stone, the way an arch carries a roof. That shape does real work. It holds the diamond higher without adding a bulky basket underneath, and it lets light travel in from the sides.

Cutting a window through each arch is what makes this version feel light rather than solid. From above you see two small openings framing the stone, and from the side the arch reads as a curve of metal with air behind it. Removing weight in exactly the place where a solitaire usually looks heaviest is an old workshop solution and it still works.

Everything else is left alone. No pave, no engraving, no milgrain, just a well finished band and a large step cut diamond. On an emerald cut, where the appeal is the clean geometry of the facets, that restraint is the point.

Band details

The shank is rounded and comfortable, widening slightly as it approaches the arches and returning to an even width at the base. The inside is smooth and lightly domed so the ring turns easily on the finger.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. With no stones on the band, the metal is the design here, so choose the colour you want to see every day.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is a cathedral setting
A setting where the band arches upward on both sides to hold the stone, rather than meeting it flat. It raises the diamond, adds side support and gives the ring a taller, more sculptural profile.

Are there any small diamonds on this ring
No. This is a plain metal solitaire. If you want accents we can add a hidden halo or pave arches as a custom order.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes, easily. The band carries no stones, so a jeweller can size it in either direction. Your first resizing with us is free.

How is this different from your other plain solitaires
Our slim polished band solitaire keeps the shank straight and flat to the head. Our wide polished band solitaire uses a broad heavy shank. This design is the only one with cathedral arches and an open window cut through each shoulder.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
Almost. The arches lift slightly off the finger at the shoulders, so a straight band meets the ring cleanly at the base but leaves a small gap under the head. Many people prefer that look, and a contoured band closes it if you do not.

Is it comfortable for daily wear
Yes. There is no pave to catch, the edges are rounded, and the open shoulders keep the weight down.

Which metal should I choose
Yellow gold for a classic warm look, white gold or sterling silver to keep everything cool and let the diamond dominate, rose gold for something softer.
