The band on this ring is pierced rather than solid. Slim branches of metal cross and separate as they leave the center stone, leaving open spaces you can see straight through from the side. That openness is what makes the design look grown rather than manufactured, and it also keeps the ring light on the hand even though the shoulders are quite wide.

The leaves are marquise cut diamonds rather than carved metal. Each one is set at its own angle along the branch, some pointing up toward the center stone and some falling away from it, which is how leaves actually sit on a stem. Between them are small round brilliants set into the twigs like buds. Nothing on the band is arranged in a straight symmetrical row, and that is deliberate.

Against all of that movement the emerald cut reads as still. A step cut has long parallel facets and a broad open table, so it gives slow wide flashes of light instead of rapid sparkle. Putting a calm stone in a busy setting is a classic pairing because each one makes the other easier to see.

Band details

The branches split apart at the shoulders and rejoin into a single rounded shank at the base of the finger. The open work is left with a polished finish inside and out so light passes through it. The inner edge of the shank is smooth and slightly domed for comfort.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. Yellow gold makes the branch work read most clearly against the diamonds, which is why we photograph this design in yellow.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Are the leaves diamonds or metal
Diamonds. Each leaf is a marquise cut lab grown diamond set into the branch. The twigs and the frame around them are metal.

Will the open work catch on clothing
The branches are rounded and polished with no sharp ends, and the marquise points are set down into the metal rather than left standing proud. In normal daily wear it behaves like any textured band.

Can this ring be resized later
The plain section at the base can be sized within a size or two. The branch section cannot be cut, so give us your size as accurately as you can. First resizing is free.

How is this different from your other vine rings
Our marquise leaf twisted vine ring wraps two solid twisted strands around the finger. Our sculpted metal leaf ring has no accent stones at all. This design is pierced open branch work with marquise diamond leaves set at varying angles, so it is the airiest of the three.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
Not flush, because the branches sit proud on both sides. A curved or contoured band follows the design better, and we can make one to match.

How do I clean it
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. The open work rinses through easily, which is one practical advantage of a pierced band.

Which metal should I choose
Yellow and rose gold separate the branch from the diamonds and give the design its natural look. White gold blends metal and stone together for a frostier effect.
