An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four claws, lifted on a hidden halo of pave diamonds, above a band set with scalloped pave for three quarters of its circumference.

The band is scalloped rather than straight, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a decorative one. In a scalloped or French pave, the metal between each diamond is scooped away into a small curve on both sides of the band, so the stone is left standing almost clear of its setting and light can reach it from below and from the sides as well as from above. A straight channel or a flat pave hides the lower half of every stone. Here the line of diamonds reads as a continuous bright thread rather than a row of dots, and it runs three quarters of the way around the finger before the metal turns plain at the back where a ring takes the most wear.

Under the head sits the hidden halo, a narrow collar of pave running around the girdle of the centre stone below the table. It cannot be seen when you look straight down, and from every other angle it shows as a fine bright line supporting the stone. The halo also lifts the emerald cut a little higher than a bare basket would, which is what lets a wedding band sit flush against this ring without a gap.

Band details

A slim shank with scalloped pave along both shoulders and three quarters of the circumference, closing into plain polished metal at the back. The interior is smooth and comfort rounded, and the profile is high enough for a wedding band to sit flush against it.

Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

What is scalloped pave

Why does the pave stop three quarters of the way around
The back of a ring takes the most contact and wear. Leaving it as plain polished metal keeps the ring durable and makes resizing possible without disturbing any stones.

What is a hidden halo
A ring of small pave diamonds set around the girdle of the centre stone but below its table, invisible from directly above and bright from every other angle.

Will a wedding band sit flush against this ring
Yes. The hidden halo raises the head just enough that a straight band meets the shank without a gap.

Do emerald cuts show inclusions more than other shapes
Yes. The open step facets hide far less than a brilliant does, which is why we use VVS2 clarity for the centre stone.
