An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four claws on a solid band that splits and flares outward at the shoulders before rejoining under the finger. There are no accent stones anywhere on this ring.

The shape of the metal is the entire design. As the shank approaches the setting it widens and separates into two curved planes, each one swept back like a fin, leaving an open space in the middle. The surfaces are broad enough to hold a full reflection, so the ring reads as polished sculpture rather than as a band with a stone on it.

A split like this also solves a practical problem. A large emerald cut needs a substantial base to look balanced, but a heavy solid shank makes a ring uncomfortable. Splitting the metal keeps the visual mass at the top while removing weight from the middle, so the ring sits well on the hand.

Everything is left plain and mirror polished. With a stone this size and a form this strong, adding pave would only confuse the outline.

Band details

Wide and sculptural at the top, narrowing to a comfortable rounded band underneath. The inner surface is smooth and lightly domed so the ring turns easily and sits flat against the finger.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. On a design built from polished surfaces the metal colour carries the whole ring, so choose the tone you want to see.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Are there any small diamonds on this ring
No. It is entirely plain metal apart from the center stone. We can add pave along the split shank as a custom order.

Does the wide shoulder make the ring uncomfortable
No. The width is at the top only, and the band narrows to normal proportions where it passes between the fingers.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes. The plain section at the base can be sized in either direction. Your first resizing with us is free.

How is this different from your other split shank rings
Our crossover split shank ring has the two halves cross over each other. Our pave split shank ring sets diamonds along both halves. This one is plain polished metal with a swept flare, so it is the most sculptural and the most modern of the three.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
Not flush, because the flare stands away from the finger at the shoulders. A straight band sits neatly at the base, and a contoured band follows the curve if you want them to touch.

Will polished gold scratch
All precious metal picks up fine surface marks with wear. On a broad polished surface they show a little more, and a professional polish restores it completely. That is included in our lifetime cleaning service.

Which metal should I choose
Yellow gold makes the sculpted form warm and prominent. White gold and sterling silver make the metal recede so the diamond dominates. Rose gold sits in between.
