An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four claws on a plain polished band whose two ends split apart and cross over one another beneath the head before rising into the claws.

Look at the ring from above and it is a plain solitaire. Turn it to the side and the whole construction shows. Each half of the shank divides into two ribbons as it approaches the head, and those ribbons pass over each other in an X before continuing up to become the claws. It is a purely structural idea that happens to be beautiful. The crossing gives the head two anchor points on each side instead of one, so the setting can sit lower and the band can stay slimmer than a straight shank would allow under the same weight of stone.

There are no accent stones anywhere. The gallery beneath the emerald cut is left completely open by the crossover, so light reaches the pavilion from underneath and the stone stays bright even though it is set close to the finger. The band itself is a plain rounded wire, polished all over, and its interior is smoothed so the crossover is felt only as a slight thickening under the stone.
