An elongated radiant cut lab grown diamond held by four claws over a hidden halo, on a rounded comfort fit band. The band is the quiet difference here. Rather than the very fine wire shank used on most solitaires, this one is slightly wider with a domed outer face and a rounded inner face, which is what comfort fit means. It spreads the weight of a large centre stone over more of the finger, it does not dig in when you close your hand, and it takes the everyday knocks better than a thin band does. The head is a clean four claw setting with a row of pave hidden in the basket, visible only from the side. Band details

A rounded comfort fit band with a domed outer surface and a smooth curved inner surface, polished all the way around and set with no stones. Slightly wider than a standard solitaire shank so it carries a large centre stone comfortably. The only accent diamonds are the hidden halo inside the basket.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, gives a warm line either side of a colourless stone and suits the rounded band profile. White gold and sterling silver make the diamond read icier. Rose gold is the warmest of the three.

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. Comfort fit bands often feel slightly looser than a flat band of the same nominal size, so if you are between sizes we suggest the smaller one. Ask us for a free size guide if you are unsure.

Frequently asked questions

What does comfort fit mean?
The inside of the band is domed rather than flat, so only the centre of the curve touches the finger. Less surface contact means less friction, easier sliding over the knuckle and no sharp inner edges pressing in.

Why a wider band on a large stone?
Balance and durability. A 4 or 5 carat radiant has real weight, and a wider shank spreads that load and resists bending. A very fine band under a very large stone tends to rotate on the finger.

What is a hidden halo?
A row of small diamonds set into the basket beneath the centre stone, facing outward instead of upward. Invisible from above, but it lights the profile and lifts the head slightly so a wedding band can sit alongside.

What is an elongated radiant cut?
A rectangle with cut corners and a brilliant faceting pattern beneath. It has the clean outline of an emerald cut but returns light in small bright flashes like a round. Cut longer than wide, it flatters the finger and looks larger for its weight.

Does this suit daily wear?
It is the most practical setting in our solitaire range. Rounded band, no exposed pave to catch, no points on the stone, and cut corners that resist chipping.

What is the difference between a lab grown and a mined diamond?
Only where it was made. A lab grown diamond is carbon in the same crystal structure with the same hardness, refractive index and grading scales, and IGI grades both the same way.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

A lab grown diamond is chemically and optically the same as a mined one, graded on the same scales by the same laboratories, at a fraction of the price. That is what makes a VVS2 E colour elongated radiant at 4 or 5 carat achievable. It is grown rather than excavated, so there is no mining involved and the origin is never in question.
