Among all our pear rings this is the one that shows the cut most honestly, because nothing sits underneath the stone lifting it or beside it widening the outline. A pear is longer than it is wide, so it stretches along the finger and makes the hand look longer, and on a bare band that line runs completely uninterrupted. This ring has no side stones and no hidden halo. It is a true solitaire, which is what gives it the clean line and the low maintenance.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. With no accent stones the metal is half of what you see, so the colour choice matters more here than on any of our pave pear rings. A white metal maximises the elongating effect because nothing warm breaks the line between stone and band; yellow and rose gold frame the tear drop shape more visibly. For everyday wear 14K is harder than 18K.

Frequently asked questions

How does this differ from your other pear rings?
All the others have something on the band or under the stone: pave in white gold, pave in rose gold, a hidden halo in yellow gold, a tear drop version, and a claw prong version. This one has none of it. If you want the simplest possible presentation of a pear, buy this. If you want sparkle beyond the centre stone, buy one of those.

Does a plain solitaire make the stone look smaller?
No, the opposite. A hidden halo lifts and slightly widens the head, but with nothing around it the eye has only the diamond to look at, and a pear already shows a generous face up spread for its weight.

Is the point protected?
Yes. The tip sits under a V prong that caps the thinnest part of the stone in metal rather than leaving it exposed. This is standard on every pear we build.

Is a plain band easier to live with?
Generally yes. Nothing to snag, no beads to loosen or clean around, easiest to resize, and a wedding band sits flush against it. Note that a pear has a rounded base, so a straight band will leave a small gap unless you choose a contoured one.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time.
