Radiant Moissanite Vintage-Style Engagement Ring: A Buyer’s Guide

A crisp radiant in a vintage-inspired setting with small round accents. How to choose your size by millimetres, and why the radiant suits an old-world look.

Written by the Mapple Gems workshop, Surat Β· Updated 13 October 2026

Short answer: This ring sets a radiant cut moissanite in a vintage-inspired setting with small round moissanite accents. It is made to order in 925 silver or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold, in seven sizes from 2 carats (8.2 Γ— 6.2 mm) to 5 carats (11 Γ— 9 mm). Its 2.5 carat size, 9 Γ— 7 mm, is the one in the ring’s name and the one our latest customer chose.

The radiant cut dates from the late twentieth century, but its rectangular outline and cropped corners echo the step cuts of the Art Deco era. That is why it sits so naturally in a vintage-style setting: the shape feels classic, while its brilliant facets give modern sparkle. Our latest order was the 2.5 carat in sterling silver.

The sizes in millimetres

Size option Stone Length : width
2 carat 8.2 Γ— 6.2 mm 1.32
2.5 carat 9 Γ— 7 mm 1.29
3 carat 9.5 Γ— 7.5 mm 1.27
3.5 carat 10 Γ— 8 mm 1.25
4 carat 10.2 Γ— 8.2 mm 1.24
4.5 carat 10.5 Γ— 8.5 mm 1.24
5 carat 11 Γ— 9 mm 1.22

The smaller sizes are the most rectangular; the radiant gets slightly squarer as it grows. Moissanite is sold by millimetres with a diamond-equivalent carat figure, because it is lighter than diamond, so compare these numbers rather than the carats.

What the small accents add

Small round moissanites around the setting add sparkle and a little width. Accents this small look bright and white, because moissanite’s coloured fire (dispersion 0.104) needs depth to develop; the radiant centre carries the colour. More accents also mean more small settings, so a bench check every two years β€” yearly in silver β€” keeps them secure.

From the workshop

Our latest customer chose the 2.5 carat in sterling silver, and for a vintage look we often suggest thinking about yellow or rose gold too. Warm metal suits the old-world character of the design, and it softens moissanite’s rainbow flashes, which helps a radiant read more like the calm stones of the period. Silver gives a crisp, white version, and is a good way to try the design. If this becomes the ring you never take off, 14K gold holds the small accents best over many years.

Before you order: a short checklist

  1. Choose the size by millimetres and do a paper test on the finger.
  2. Ask for a video of the stone in ordinary light.
  3. Confirm a prong sits over each radiant corner.
  4. Choose warm metal for a vintage feel, white for a crisper look.
  5. Plan a wedding band that suits the setting’s profile.
